Montreal Masters: Tabilo beats Tiafoe to reach second round

Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 15 seed, beat American Frances Tiafoe 6-4, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA on Tuesday.

Tabilo, ranked No 21, will face Italian Lorenzo Sonego next. Tiafoe was a semi-finalist in Washington last week where he defeated top seed Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals before going down to eventual champion Sebatian Korda.
