Seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams is all set to play an exhibition against Australian Open runner-up Danielle Collins in Dallas in early February.

Williams and Collins, ranked No 14 in the world, will play a best of three singles match with a tiebreak for the third set at the inaugural Women’s Tennis Classic Showcase on February 4, 2023 in Dallas.

The event will be held alongside the men’s Dallas Open, an ATP 250 event, held from February 4-12 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.

Venus WIlliams has been practicing regularly since her US Open exit

A few days ago, Willliams, who is now 42 years old, had said in an update on her YouTube channel that she has been practicing regularly since her first round exit at the US Open and would love to be back competing.

The former world No 1 returned to the women’s tour in July this year after a year-long layoff and played four singles events during the American hardcourt stretch but failed to win a match.

While this could be a positive sign for Williams to return to the tour as well, there is no news about whether sister Serena Williams will play in 2023.

The younger Williams sisters has also been spotted a few times on the practice courts after her supposed farewell at the US Open in September.
