Former US Open champions Dominic Thiem and Emma Raducanu will return to Miami for the Miami Open this month after being awarded wildcards into the event.

Thiem, the 2020 US Open champion making his way back to full strength after injury and a loss of motivation, will make his sixth appearance in Miami but first since 2019. His best showing there is a quarter-final run in 2015.

Raducanu, who came out of nowhere to win the US Open in 2021, will be in the field in Miami for the second time. The 20-year-old Briton lost in the first round in 2022.

“We are happy to be able to add Emma and Dominic to the Miami Open fields,” tournament director James Blake said in a press release. “Both these players have shown what it takes to win the biggest tournaments in the world, and we look forward to welcoming them to Miami to compete for the title here in a few short weeks.”

The Miami Open begins on March 19 and runs to April 2.
