First time into a Slam second week for Cameron Norrie, trounces Johnson

No 9 seed Cameron Norrie moved into the last 16 of Wimbledon by winning against American Steve Johnson 6-4, 6-1, 6-0 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Friday evening.

Norrie, ranked No 12, will play American Tommy Paul, the No 30 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, Norrie defeated Spaniard Pablo Andujar (6-0, 7-6 (3), 6-3) and Spaniard Jaume Munar (6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 6-0, 6-2).

Johnson, ranked No 93, benefited from the retirement of Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 18 seed (4-6, 5-2) and won against wildcard Ryan Peniston (6-3, 6-2, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
