yRaducanu wins in straight sets to reach Seoul second round

Sixth seed Emma Raducanu scored another morale-boosting win at the WTA Hana Bank Korea Open in Seoul on Wednesday with a straight sets win over Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima.
Raducanu, who was knocked out of the US Open in the first round, scored a 6-2, 6-4 win over Uchijima in one hour and 18 minutes at the Seoul Olympic Park.
The Brit teen, now ranked No 77 in the world, will play former world No 15 Yanina Wickmayer next. The Belgian scored a 6-1, 6-4 over last week’s Chennai Open winner Linda Fruhvirtova 6-1, 6-4.
