Before Friday, the last time 15-year-old Brenda Fruhvirtova had lost a match was at the French Open juniors event. Since then, the Czech teen went on an incredible winning spree – winning 5 consecutive ITF titles to build a 25-match winning streak.

This week, Fruhvirtova added two more to extend her unbeaten run to 27 wins before her streak came to a halt on Friday at the ITF event in San Sebastian.

Playing against 22-year-old Dutchwoman Eva Vedder, who is ranked No 120 in the world, Brenda Fruhvirtova went down 6-3, 2-6,6 -4 in one hour and 51 minutes.

The Czech teen is already up to No 166 in the world rankings and is projected to climb to around No 150 next week which means she will be able to play the Australian Open qualifying draw.
