Daria Saville ends Rebecca Marino’s run to set up Kanepi clash in Citi Open semis
Daria Saville won against Rebecca Marino in straight sets to move into the semi-finals of the Citi Open where she will face the No 6 seed Kaia Kanepi

Australia’s Daria Saville advanced to the semi-finals of the Citi Open by winning against Canadian qualifier Rebecca Marino 6-1, 7-5 on Friday.
Saville, ranked No 88, will play Estonian Kaia Kanepi, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous rounds, the 28-year-old Australian had defeated Swedish qualifier Mirjam Bjorklund (3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4)) and American Jessica Pegula (7-5, 6-4).
Marino, ranked No 111, came through the qualifying draw and then defeated American wildcard Venus Williams (4-6, 6-1, 6-4) and German Andrea Petkovic (6-3, 3-6, 6-1) in the main draw of the tournament.
